Sister Wives Season 18’s one-on-one Tell-All episode for Sunday, December 3 revealed Christine Brown spilling the tea that Kody Brown melted down Meri Brown’s ring. Furious fans feel that probably, it was one of the more emotionally abusive things that he’d ever done to her. However, it seems that he might have melted down all of the wives’ rings, but Meri took it the hardest.

The preview showing Christine spilling the personal tea about Meri made fans furious with her. Of course, they were equally, if not more angry with her ex-husband. Although a lot of fans laud Christine for leaving, they don’t feel happy with the way she and Janelle Brown treat their former sister wife. After all, they all suffered from a lot of the same problems.
Meri Brown married Kody first and it upset her when he melted down her ring. Obviously, she also felt that her privacy had been invaded when Christine spilled the beans to Sukanya Krishnan. During the filming of the one-on-one, she returned and vented about it.
After we did the taping for the 1-on-1 interviews with Suki, I found out that a story was brought up about me that is not a story that I have ever shared publicly. That is my story to tell when, where and how I want to. And somebody else took it upon themselves to tell that story. And now I’m being forced to talk about it. I’m not happy about it.
Did Kody Brown Melt Down All Of The Wives’ Rings?
Us Weekly did an exclusive interview with Janelle and Christine Brown to get their reactions to the ring being melted down. Janelle seemed sympathetic towards Meri, and she said, “Meri’s very sentimental about the ring that she gave Kody. And I think it bothered her when he melted down the wedding ring.”
Meanwhile, Christine Brown agreed that it probably hurt her deeply. She told the interviewer, “That was really hard.” As Christine still doesn’t get along with Kody Brown”s former first wife, she seems unsympathetic and just stated the fact that Leon’s mom was saddened by it. However, they also talked about other rings. And, that made fans think that the other OGs lost their ring to the smelter as well.
All The Wives Had Rings Melted – Kid’s Family Token Destroyed?
In the interview that you can watch below, Janelle Brown started talking about how the wives gave their rings to Kody to get them made into a “Claddagh ring.” Well, it seems that Meri, Janelle, and Christine thought the ring was like a family token that the kids could inherit one day. Christine talked about the sadness of melting down rings, and Janelle said:
As best I remember it, we did it for the sake of giving [our daughters] rings made from all the parents’ rings.To me, it felt like he was giving them a token. I felt like it was, like, ‘I am passing on this thing to you. I guess I felt like it was sort of an heirloom situation.
Meanwhile, Christine felt that it was sad that he’d melted it down to “make something new.” Actually, it’s not clear but perhaps that new horse ring that he flaunted in front of Meri was made with the wive’s original Claddagh ring.

Well that’s interesting. If I heard Christine right. She said Kody melted down all the wives original rings. Not just Meri’s. That puts an entirely different perspective on the whole thing. Christine had every right to answer that question since they all experienced it. I said it before seeing this clip and I’ll say it again. Meri is simply humiliated. That’s why she’s angry.

On Reddit, fans had a lot to say about the rings. There, they confessed to some confusion.
- When you “melt down” a ring which many jewelers don’t usually do because it yields inconsistent results you need 25% more metal than the final product. So it was more likely he sold it for scrap or melt value and had something else made or just bought something already made…Like his horsey ring.
- This story is so confusing. Did Kody melt his down and then they concocted the plan to melt them all down for the girls? Was it really only Kody’s ring and “the little girls” were Aurora and Breanna? 🤔
- Janelle, is this the best spin you could come up with? Kody stated he did it because Meri was not in charge of him- not because he wanted all the girls to have a piece of the ring. They both missed the point that he did it for Robyn and not for them or their daughters. The Claddagh rings are silver. The wedding band was gold.
