Dannielle and Nathalia haven’t been getting along well on Seeking Sister Wife, leaving fans wondering if the Merrifields are still dating her.
Garrick and Dannielle Merrifield have been pursuing a relationship with Nathalia Lima in the current Seeking Sister Wife season, and fans have been wondering if the trio is still together as they’re having so many problems onscreen. Dannielle and her husband Garrick were first introduced to the audience in Seeking Sister Wife season 3 after the couple decided to try and bring in another wife. At the time, the couple was dating Roberta Pacha, and Dannielle had divorced Garrick so he could legally marry Roberta.
The Brazilian native later broke up with the Merrifields over text, leaving Dannielle, who had treated her like a sister, heartbroken. The duo also accused Roberta of scamming them after she asked them for thousands of dollars. Things didn’t fall apart until Garrick stopped financing her. However, Garrick and Dannielle didn’t give up their dream of finding a perfect sister-wife to add to their family. Upon their return in Seeking Sister Wife season 5, the couple pursued a relationship with Nathalia, even though Dannielle seemed less convinced that a plural union suited her.
The Merrifields’ Relationship With Nathalia
Like Roberta, Nathalia is from Brazil, and the couple matched with her on a dating app before meeting in person in Mexico. The Seeking Sister Wife fans saw the couple exploring their family dynamics, with Garrick seemingly fully prepared to fulfill his dream of being in a polyamorous marriage. It was easy to wonder if their relationship worked. Garrick and Nathalia hit it off well, but Dannielle was still healing from Roberta’s heartbreak.
The Seeking Sister Wife star confessed that she still had reservations about this new addition. Dannielle stated that she feared the new woman would leave them just like Roberta did. She also noted that she couldn’t trust Nathalia as she was afraid she would let another person get close only to end up heartbroken (as per TLC).
It was so hard for me to divorce Garrick but I did it because I trusted that she loved me and that like she cared about me and that she wouldn’t hurt me and she did.

On the other hand, Garrick was more than ready to marry Nathalia. Dannielle was afraid that Garrick and Nathalia’s connection would inspire him to relocate to Brazil, leaving her behind. The Seeking Sister Wife cast member, who often uses religion to justify his beliefs, noted that God had spoken to him while he was praying on a mountaintop. He said they would add a new “rose” to their family. He added that Nathalia was meant to heal his family and add peace (via TLC).
I was praying a year ago on a mountaintop and God spoke to me about a sweet rose being added to our family that would heal the family’s heart and bring calm and peace to all of us.

Garrick and Dannielle revealed during the Seeking Sister Wife April 22 episode that they were expecting their third child together. The Merrifields shared on their Instagram page that they welcomed their baby Leia on May 17, 2023. In the recent episode, Dannielle shared the news with Garrick, who seemed so surprised. However, Nathalia wasn’t surprised, indicating it was normal, but she didn’t seem thrilled.
“Me no surprise. No surprise,” said Nathalia in a condescending tone. After being apart for a month, Dannielle had reunited with her husband and potential sister-wife but felt the tension as soon as she landed. The Seeking Sister Wife star added that she felt that Nathalia thought she got pregnant on purpose to keep Garrick (via TLC).
I am not sure if I made the right choice coming down here. I feel awkward with Garrick, I feel awkward with Nathalia. I feel like she is trying to be happy that I am here, but I don’t think she is. It feels like she is angry at me for being pregnant. I think she thinks I purposely got pregnant to keep Garrick and to save our relationship.
