General Hospital Spoilers: Taking Mason Out Won’t End Ava’s Troubles, But He’s Sonny’s First Stop
General Hospital spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) promised Ava Jerome (Maura West) he would take care of the mess she’s embroiled in and he meant it. Ava is no stranger to the world of the mob; she was raised in it. She knows how Sonny deals with problems and threats to his family, so she shouldn’t be surprised when Mason Gatlin (Nathanyael Grey) turns up dead. But taking Mason out is just Sonny flexing his muscles.
His reach will extend much further than that, and it won’t take long for Ava to start worrying about Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) safety. But Austin’s got his own back, and he’s going to be forced to come clean to save his own hide. Ouch, this one’s going to sting, Ava.

Sonny is taking full advantage of his new nanny, Betty Rutherford (Ella Lentini), who is eager to be a caretaker for his daughter, Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola). He’s convinced that every move she makes will bring him one step closer to uncovering whoever is really pulling the strings.
Unfortunately, it seems that things are about to take a left turn, which will make it much more difficult for Sonny to track down the culprit behind the scenes.
With no other options left, Sonny will be forced to take out Mason, leaving Ava with a growing sense of panic that they may never know what really happened to Nikolas Cassadine’s (Adam Huss) corpse. If only she knew there wasn’t one.

Perhaps Ava didn’t emphasize the risk of harming Mason quite enough. With Mason being the only person who knows where Nikolas’ body is, Ava is going to be fraught with panic when she learns he’s been eliminated.
Of course, Sonny will think he knows best and might even say he had no other choice. It’s not clear whether Ava will buy that, but there is a chance Sonny will be telling the truth.
Is it possible that he will see this from a very different angle than Ava does — and that maybe he thinks Austin was working with Mason and Betty?

There is no way Ava will want to hear Sonny’s theory that she has been used by yet another man with an agenda who lured her into his bed just to manipulate her.
She’s supposed to have learned that hard lesson already. But here she is, and Sonny wouldn’t be the first person to have suspicions about Austin.
The Quartermaine’s did as soon as he came to town. Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) certainly couldn’t have relayed anything good about him to Sonny.
Now, the mob boss himself thinks Ava’s beau is up to no good, and he may be right. What if Austin knew Nikolas didn’t die and what if he still knows where Nikolas is?
